Gloria’s world revolved around her grandchildren an she spent as much time as possible with them. She enjoyed bird watching, cooking and in her younger years, dancing. Gloria worked at the Foley American Legion for 18 years and also worked as a custodian for Foley Public Schools for over 20 years. She married Marcel Midas July 31, 1961, at Annunciation Catholic Church, Mayhew Lake. She received her GED from Foley High School. Cloud to Elmer and Lorraine (Gau) Manthey. Service with Dignity provided by the Foley Funeral Home. Visitation will be 10-11 at the church Aug. Memorial services will be 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 9, 2021, at Centra Care Health in Monticello. Gloria Midas, age 78, of Ronneby, passed away Aug. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Rum River Life Choices Center in Milaca and CROSS Center in Foley. He is proceeded in death by his parents, and father-in-law, Martin Harris. Gene is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Linda children, Troy (Cheri) and Jill (Glenn) Kooiman grandchildren, Bailey, Zach, Ronnie, Jackson, Hudson, Benson and Daisy mother-in-law Dorothy Harris and numerous other family members and countless friends. His friendly, humorous and honest personality will be remembered by everyone who had the privilege to have known him. Gene was a dedicated man who fully devoted himself to his family, friends, faith and work. There were few things he couldn’t fix, including old stubborn oil furnaces. Gene was well known in the community as their local and trustworthy repairman. His family will forever treasure all the memories made together, especially family trips and games nights. Their family grew to include two children and many grandchildren. He met and soon married Linda Harris Oct. He graduated from Foley High School in 1961.
